Success rates for staying off the cigarettes at least one year later using other methods are surprisingly low compared with hypnotherapy. Even the most basic stop smoking hypnotherapy treatment is more effective with lasting results than willpower, nicotine patches or prescription drug treatments, such as Zyban or Champix.

Hypnotherapy success rates range from as low as 30% to over 90%.  Suggestion hypnotherapy, which is often used with NLP and is the key ingredient in group therapy, is the most commonly available.  Although useful at treating symptoms, suggestion alone doesn’t often tackle the problem fully and it is effective for 30-60 per cent of smokers, depending on the hypnotherapist’s techniques and skill¹. So, what about the rest?

In 1968 Von Dedenroth reported in the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis a success rate of 94% over an 18-month period with more than a 1,000 smokers.

The stop smoking hypnosis process we use — the Austin ‘Stop Smoking In One Hour’ Technique has many similarities to Dedenroth’s work and not surprisingly reaches a comparably high success-rate using advanced techniques and a very concentrated hour of therapy.

Why stopping smoking with advanced hypnosis makes perfect sense

If you are committed to stopping smoking, choosing a proven method makes sense.

‘Cheaper’ methods such as willpower, nicotine replacement, prescription drugs and counselling can be a waste of time, money and effort for over 80% of smokers¹.  Withdrawal symptoms and side effects of these methods can be unpleasant and even dangerous, for example, Champix has been linked to a number of high profile suicides both in the UK and USA.
