Research into the Most Effective Way to Stop Smoking….

stop smoking hypnosis research and resultsHypnotherapy is streets ahead of any other  therapy or treatment available to help you stop smoking; and it has been proven in clinical research.

Success rates for staying off the cigarettes at least one year later using other methods are surprisingly low compared with hypnotherapy. Even the most basic stop smoking hypnotherapy treatment is more effective with lasting results than willpower, nicotine patches or prescription drug treatments, such as Zyban or Champix.

94% success rate with 1,000+ smokers for at least 18 months

Hypnotherapy success rates range from as low as 30% to over 90%.  Suggestion hypnotherapy, which is often used with NLP and is the key ingredient in group therapy, is the most commonly available.  Although useful at treating symptoms, suggestion alone doesn’t often tackle the problem fully and it is effective for 30-60 per cent of smokers, depending on the hypnotherapist’s techniques and skill¹. So, what about the rest?

In 1968 Von Dedenroth reported in the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis a success rate of 94% over an 18-month period with more than a 1,000 smokers.

The stop smoking hypnosis process we use — the Austin ‘Stop Smoking In One Hour’ Technique has many similarities to Dedenroth’s work and not surprisingly reaches a comparably high success-rate using advanced techniques and a very concentrated hour of therapy.

Our technique was developed by Valerie Austin in the 1980s and it is the original one hour stop smoking hypnosis programme. Success rates rely on client commitment, plus our specialist training and expertise at delivering a very precise set of protocols.

Why stopping smoking with advanced hypnosis makes perfect sense

If you are committed to stopping smoking, choosing a proven method makes sense.

‘Cheaper’ methods such as willpower, nicotine replacement, prescription drugs and counselling can be a waste of time, money and effort for over 80% of smokers¹.  Withdrawal symptoms and side effects of these methods can be unpleasant and even dangerous, for example, Champix has been linked to a number of high profile suicides both in the UK and USA.

Few people would choose any other medical procedure with an 80% failure rate, such as an operation. And even fewer would go ahead if more natural, less evasive and more successful alternative was available.

Research shows that even the most basic suggestion based stop smoking hypnosis techniques deliver far higher results than the traditional methods. Furthermore the more sophisticated hypnotherapy techniques, the better your chances of quitting.

An excellent technique is essential to a successful stop smoking hypnosis treatment – you can have an excellent therapist delivering a mediocre or bad technique and they will have a far lower success rate than a bad therapist with a very good technique. Not the other way round. Our ‘Stop Smoking in One Hour’ programme is an excellent, proven technique.
